Can Magnesium Help Me Sleep?

MKE(10).png

There are lots of reasons that people can’t sleep at night, and some are completely understandable. You had a cup of coffee a little too close to bedtime, your child woke up several times with nightmares, or you spent the entire night watching “one more episode” of The Office. But what about those nights where you do everything right and still can’t seem to get to sleep? Your teeth are brushed, you’re in your jammies, and the lights are out, but for some reason sleep refuses to come. If you’ve counted every sheep, lamb, and goat on the farm, it’s time you tried a natural sleep remedy that actually works. It’s time to consider using magnesium for sleep!

How To Use Magnesium For Better Sleep

Keeping your body functioning properly is a balancing act. Even one thing out of order can throw everything else off track. That’s why it’s so important to eat a healthy diet and make sure your body is getting everything it needs to run smoothly day and night. So the answer to your insomnia is often as simple as one little mineral: magnesium.

Magnesium After Midnight

While some minerals may do their best work during the day, magnesium has just as much to offer during the night hours. For starters, magnesium has an overall relaxing effect, which can definitely prove useful when trying to calm your mind and body down enough to fall asleep. Magnesium has also been found to improve both the amount of time you sleep as well as the quality and effectiveness of the sleep that you get. In other words, magnesium can give you the longest, best sleep of your life. Who in their sleep-deprived mind wants to pass that up? (1, 2)

Adding Magnesium To Your Nighttime Routine

So you want magnesium to work its magic on your sleep? All you’ve got to do is add this marvelous mineral to your nighttime routine. Here’s how you do it.

1. Take A Shower Or Bath

This first step is optional, so if you don’t have time, you can skip it, but I think you’ll find that it really makes a difference. Taking a warm shower or bath opens your pores, allowing the magnesium to more easily absorb into your skin when applied. It’s also a great way to wash away the stresses of the day and allow yourself to relax.

2. Apply Magnesium Oil

Magnesium chloride, or magnesium oil, is one of the best ways to provide your body with the magnesium that it needs. Just before you’re ready to jump into bed, apply the oil to your wrists, temples, feet, or anywhere else you like and gently massage it in.

3. Wait And Sleep

It’s not necessary to rinse after applying magnesium oil, but if you do plan on washing, make sure to let the oil absorb at least 15 minutes before doing so. Otherwise, just slip under the covers, close your eyes, and let the magnesium do its job.

Magnesium Makes Things Better

Sleep makes everything better, and magnesium makes sleep better. So give magnesium oil a try and with a good night’s sleep behind you, a well-rested mind inside you, and a full day ahead of you, nothing will stand in your way.

A Personal Testimonial

Some of you may already know years ago, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

I can still recall what it felt like to have my life change overnight…

I went from an Executive Director of a non-profit organization, running marathons, rock climbing, hiking canyons and kayaking to being completely bedridden and staring at a wall for 15 hours a day.

Of course, I went to see many doctors but unfortunately I didn’t find the help I needed. So, I had to set off on my own journey to learn my true path to healing.

I’d pretty much turned-over every rock trying to find relief for my pain, sleep issues and myriad of other symptoms…

Fast-forward 18 years.

I was determined to climb one of the true wonders of the natural world, Machu Picchu, the mystical home of the Incas in Peru.

It was there, after a grueling day when my feet, knees, legs, and lower back hurt so bad, that I thought I would have to abandon hopes of our next climb which was Rainbow Mountain! That night I pulled out a little spray bottle of “aceite de magnesio” that a friend had given me before I left on my trip.

What the heck, I thought. I was desperate. And I applied it all over my body before bed.

Because of the grueling day, I woke up expecting to be immobilized, but instead we were off to climb Rainbow Mountain and…I was totally pain-free!

I know it sounds impossible, but it’s 1000% the truth.
